4. Lake Dardanelle

The park stretches out along the 34,300-acre Lake Dardanelle on the Arkansas River. It’s a popular fishing destination with a fishing pier and the Sport Fishing Weigh-in Pavilion. Enjoy lazing on the beach, strolling down the boardwalk, and camping at one of the full hookup or primitive tent and RV sites. The park has a visitor center with a Lakeview Room that provides breathtaking views of the lake, five aquariums, and offers numerous lake tours and programs.  


5. Mount Nebo

Escape to the top of the 1,350-foot Mount Nebo in the Arkansas River Valley and hike and mountain bike down 14 miles of scenic trails. The rustic cabins, pavilions, and bridges were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The cabins and campsites along the bluff provide spectacular views of the valley below. There is a swimming pool, tennis courts, picturesque picnic areas, and a visitor center.


6. Lake Catherine

Enjoy peace and tranquility on Lake Catherine in the magnificent Ouachita Mountain region. The beautiful lake has a full-service marina, launch ramp, and a fishing pier. Here you can paddle, boat, fish, swim, and hike to the waterfall, and enjoy scenic picnics at pretty spots overlooking the lake.
