4 Car Safety Features You'll Find on Today's Kia Models in Conway, AR

With 40,000 fatal car accidents occurring in the US every year, road safety should be a top priority for most drivers. Fortunately, with a modern Kia vehicle, you're protected in large part by a number of highly effective car safety features. You can see all the following safety features, and many more, in action by visiting your local Kia dealership and requesting a test drive and demonstration. 4 Car Safety Features You'll Find on Today's Kia Models Auto Emergency Braking Technology As you drive, a forward-mounted radar or camera on your Kia monitors the road ahead and detects any vehicle, bicycle, or pedestrian that comes into your path. It then warns you and applies the brakes automatically if required in order to prevent or reduce the impact of a collision. The most advanced version of this feature even allows your car to detect and avoid collision hazards as you turn left. more Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Your car can also use a camera or radar to detect vehicles approaching your blind spots. The driver's blind spots to the rear and either side of a car have always posed a danger when pulling out of a parking spot or changing lanes, especially when smaller vehicles like motorcycles are approaching at speed. The Kia's Blind Spot Collision Avoidance system detects when you're attempting to pull out of parking or change lanes without noticing an approaching vehicle. It then alerts you with a clear audible and visual warning. Blind-Spot View Monitor You can even see clearly what's in your blind spot at any time using the Blind-Spot View Monitor. Images from two outward-facing cameras installed in the rear on either side of your car are displayed on your dashboard, leaving no room for uncertainty as to what's behind you. Highway Driving Assist One of the biggest dangers on the highway is accidentally driving too close to the vehicles in front, which lessens your reaction time should the car ahead suddenly stop. With Highway Driving Assist, your car can accurately measure distances and maintain a predetermined number of feet from the car ahead. It automatically applies the brakes whenever this distance needs to be lengthened and accelerates when there's space to move closer. And if a traffic jam develops, your Kia can even automatically slow down and come to a complete halt before starting up again when the traffic moves, all without any input from the driver. See Safety Features for Each Model at Your Local Kia Dealer There are many more sophisticated safety features as standard and available on all Kia models. To see which features come with the model you're most interested in, simply ask for a tour at your nearest dealership. Advice From Your Kia Dealer in Conway, AR: Signs You Have a Faulty Ignition Coil

Spark plugs can't generate sufficient power to create combustion by themselves. An ignition coil boosts the power of each spark plug and enables combustion to occur. Over time, these coils can fail, and your Kia will develop engine problems. As your Kia dealer, we'd like you to know some signs that you need to visit us to have a faulty ignition coil replaced. Advice From Your Kia Dealer: Signs You Have a Faulty Ignition Coil Poor Acceleration Combustion is created by igniting the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder, which produces the energy to move your car. As you step on the accelerator, more fuel is injected into the intake manifold, more air is drawn through the air filter, and other components move faster. If you step on the accelerator and your engine is straining to reach the designated speed, you could have an ignition coil problem. more Each spark plug produces 12 volts of power, and the ignition coil connected to the plug boosts this to 50,000 volts. This massive boost in power allows the contents of the cylinders to ignite smoothly and efficiently. A damaged coil means the spark plug must try and ignite the fuel-air mixture by itself. This will reduce your acceleration, and you'll hear strange engine noises. We can test each coil and replace any damaged ones for you. Old Coils Coils age like all other engine components, and they will eventually break. Under normal conditions, your ignition coils last for approximately 100,000 miles , butthey can be damaged by spark plug problems and other engine issues. We check the condition of your coils during your regular Kia services to ensure that they are still in good condition. A single damaged coil can result in misfiring, as the spark plug can't ignite the fuel-air mixture without the extra power. If more than one coil is damaged, your engine will stall as there isn't enough power for combustion. We'll examine your engine to determine the problem and can quickly replace any worn or damaged coils. Check Engine Light is On Sensors are connected to every vital system on your car, and they relay information continually to your car's computer. This information enables your computer to make essential decisions for your Kia. The sensors will also report on any problems with the component they're attached to. The sensors will identify worn or damaged coils, and they will send a warning to your computer. The computer will illuminate the check engine light in response. An illuminated check engine light doesn't necessarily mean you have a coil problem, but it does mean we need to find and repair the cause of a problem in your engine. If you suspect a problem with your coils, or your engine doesn't feel right, call us right away at Crain Kia of Conway.

3 Electrical Problems You Should Always Fix at Your Kia Dealer in Conway, AR

Electrical problems are a headache for any driver, as they seem to appear out of nowhere. Most of your car's systems require electricity, and a small electrical problem can rapidly cause other problems. Fortunately, your Kia dealer can fix an issue with your car's electrical system. These are examples of problems we can fix. 3 Electrical Problems You Should Always Fix at Your Kia Dealer Damaged Alternator The alternator in your Kia is responsible for generating all your car's electricity. It does this by converting mechanical energy into AC and then DC. The power it produces is then transmitted to each system and device via wiring. An alternator has a relatively long life of approximately eight years. An alternator will, however, produce less electricity as it ages. more An older alternator will eventually not be able to produce enough power for all your car's systems. When this happens, you'll experience problems like random electrical glitches, starting difficulties, and even a dead battery. A worn alternator can't be repaired, but we can test it for you and replace it if it's failing. Failed Starter Solenoid Some of the power generated by the alternator is used to recharge your battery. This is essential, as the battery uses a large amount of electricity to power the starter motor. When you push the button, an electrical charge is sent from the battery to the starter solenoid. This powers the starter motor, and the motor then cranks your engine. If your starter motor is damaged, it's impossible to start the engine. You can test for a starter motor failure by listening for a slight click when you press the start button. If you hear a click, the starter is working but isn't receiving enough power. If you don't hear a click, the starter motor has failed. Our technicians will examine the motor and repair or replace it depending on the situation. Damaged Spark Plugs The spark plugs provide the ignition source for combustion. A spark plug is attached to each cylinder in your engine. When the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder is fully compressed, the spark plug will ignite it to create combustion. Spark plugs wear out over time, and we routinely replace them according to your car's service schedule. Spark plugs can also be damaged by other engine problems, for example, a low level of air in the engine. If your engine doesn't have enough air, the engine will become fuel-rich. A fuel-rich engine makes combustion more difficult as fuel can't burn without enough air to allow the spark plugs to ignite successfully. We'll examine your plugs and can quickly replace any damaged ones for you. If you see signs of a problem with your car's electrical system, call our service department right away at Crain Kia of Conway.

Is Your Kia's Car AC Not Working?

Is your car AC not working? At Crain Kia of Conway, we enjoy helping local drivers get the most from their vehicles. While a damaged AC can be frustrating, the good news is that there are a few common causes of this problem, which can often be solved by a trip to your local Kia dealer. The Most Common Causes of a Bad AC The first step to determining the cause of your failing air conditioner is to pay attention to the symptoms. There are a few details that drivers can pick up on to help troubleshoot their AC problems. Here are a few of the most frequent causes of a failing air conditioner. 1. The Compressor Isn't Working Properly The compressor is a pump that uses power from the engine to force freon through a series of pipes and then into the vents. If the compressor stops working, your system won't be able to produce cold air. 2. You Have a Dirty or Faulty Condenser If the condenser begins to fail or has become clogged with dirt and debris, it may cause your AC to stop working. Signs of malfunction include a gurgling or whistling sound when the air is turned on. You may also notice that the AC turns on well enough but will only blow warm air. If you notice these issues with your car, then it's best to shut off the engine and take it to a professional right away. 3. There Is a Coolant Leak A refrigerant leak often occurs when the compressor puts too much pressure on the system. If the pressure is consistent for an extended period of time, it can lead to the development of a small hole, which can allow all of the car's coolant to escape. Missing refrigerant will make your AC fail very quickly. 4. Electrical Issues It's also possible that your AC is functioning just fine, but no power is going to it. If you have blown a fuse or have another electrical problem, then this could cause your air conditioner to stop working suddenly. Is Your Car AC Not Working Correctly? Bring It to Your Kia Dealer If your car's air conditioning stops working, you should call a mechanic immediately. It's essential to get it checked because the problem could be something simple that can be fixed easily. If the problem is a leak in the refrigerant lines, any delay could damage your compressor, which would make things worse. If you're struggling with a broken air conditioner, then there's no need to keep suffering in the heat. Call Crain Kia of Conway today for a complete diagnostic check. Our team will help get your AC back to normal in no time.
