Where to Find the Best Biking Trails Near Conway, AR
Cadron Settlement Trail
This moderately difficult local trail is the only bike trail that’s actually within Conway, and it’s full of twists and turns as it makes its way through Cadron Settlement Park. The trail is a fairly short one, but it ill provides some great elevation changes and splendid views of the Arkansas River from its rocky bluffs. Riders should expect some tight turns and a few rock gardens, especially along the park’s eastern side, as well as several bridge crossings.
Camp Robinson Trails
Located in the neighboring city of Little Rock, Camp Robinson provides some of the best and most varied trails around, which stretch for over 30 miles. The trails here range from advanced to beginner trails, meaning that there’ll be something for everyone here.
The park’s most popular trail, the 2.8 mile intermediate Buddha trail provides a challenging ride for everyone, with some difficult sections thrown in. Unlike some of the Camp Robinson trails, it’s mostly on high ground and is therefore rideable all year round, however like all trails here you will need a park pass to access it if you’re 16 or over. However, the trails here are well worth it and are sure to see you coming back again and again.
Enders Fault
This purpose-built trail, located to the north of Conway, provides two fun loops of single track that cover rolling hills and a few stream crossings. It’s highly recommended to complete the trail clockwise, by taking the first left, so new riders can enjoy the ¾ mile of rolling downhill towards the end of the ride. The views from the high points on this trail make the climbs well worth it, but please be sure to stay off the hiking-only trails that are also present nearby and be careful of any hikers on the main track.
Rattlesnake Ridge Natural Area
Also located in nearby Little Rock, Rattlesnake Ridge is a beautiful nature preserve that is home to miles of mountain bike trails that will be fun and challenging even for experienced riders. Lots of loops are possible depending on time and experience, but a good place to start is the difficult Mountain Boomer Trail, which combines fast downhills with some technical rocks and rollers.
These are just a few of the fantastic trails that can be found in the area, but they’ll still provide an excellent day out and enough excitement to pull you back again and again.
